PARTY IN THE PARK FOR JUBILEE

On Saturday 4th June, the African Choir of Norfolk were excited to performed at Party in the Park, a day-long celebration for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, organised by the Black History Month Committee in conjunction with the Norfolk County Council.

The event at Eaton Park celebrated Norwich’s diverse community with live music, DJs, food stalls, a craft market, raffle and global food.

The African Choir of Norfolk performed at the Band Stand alongside many other Norfolk groups and performers, including Cuban maestro and percussionist Jose Ferrera, and opera and classical singer Emma Nuule.

Ahead of the event Eunice Amon, Norfolk Black History Committee Chair, said: “We have a wonderful group of people in Norfolk helping us, all committed to helping others – together we will create a fantastic atmosphere and an unforgettable event.”

Norfolk Black History is made up of volunteers and associate members who engage the community in the celebration of Black History throughout the year.

It was a really successful event by both the Choir and the public. A wonderful event enjoyed by many thousands of people who came to share the day together. Read EDP article here.
